Idgah Maidan Ganesha immersion procession passes off peacefully

The procession which began at 12 noon, ended by 7 pm, covering just over a kilometre's distance
THE immersion procession of the Ganesha idol installed at Idgah Maidan by Rani Chennamma Maidan Gajanana Utsava Mahamandala passed off peacefully here on Friday amid tight security. People participated in the procession with great devotion and fervour as the organisers had said "no" to a DJ music system. Numerous cultural and traditional artistes also took part in the procession.
Even the installation of the idol at the controversial ground did not face any resistance either from the administration or other community members. As the entire festival went off without any controversy, so did the immersion procession. Various cultural teams, including Dhol, Tasha, Lezhim, Chandi, and others, around 20 teams in total, were part of the immersion procession.
