Valparai hornbill point in for facelift

WITH an eye on attracting more tourists, the Tourism Department, in association with the Tamil Nadu Forest Department, is mulling over giving a facelift to Hornbill view point at the Attakatti check-post near the 16th hairpin bend on the Pollachi-Valparai hill road.
The Tourism Department is planning to spend ₹50 lakh for setting up a binocular and a telescope over a closed concrete platform from where tourists will be allowed to see the beauty of the roaming hornbills and water catchments of Western Ghats.
