Court orders LGBTQ+ speakers to be included in TN doc edu programmes

THE Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu Director of Medical Education to hold the continuing medical education (CME) programme in all government and private medical colleges in the state by including speakers from the LGBTQIA+ community in order to create awareness among medical students on the issues faced by this marginalised community.
Justice N Anand Venkatesh issued the direction while hearing that these community members shall be involved in CME programmes as they have 'lived experiences', besides being trained, as these issues are not adequately or accurately covered in the med
