Infosys Board approves ₹18,000 crore share buyback

THE country's leading IT services company Infosys announced ₹18,000 crore buyback of shares at ₹1,800 per share through tender offer route, repurchasing nearly 2.41% of outstanding equity, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
The company will repurchase 10 crore shares, marking its fifth buyback since August 2017. The shares will be bought back by the company at a premium of 19.25% from the Thursday's closing price. After the reports of potential buy-back of shares came out, the shares fell by 1.51%, closing at 1,509.50.
"The buyback size does not exceed 25% of the aggregate of the paid-up capital and free reserves, based on the latest audited interim condensed standalone and consolidated financial statements of the company as of June 30, 2025," the company said.
