The Congress' much-anticipated August 5 protest over alleged electoral fraud at Bengaluru's Freedom Park has now been deferred to August 8 in the light of the death of former Jharkhand CM Shibu Soren.
Addressing the media in Bengaluru on Monday, AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, who is also state Congress chief, said that the decision was taken after holding consultation with top Congress leadership, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
