University VC says among seven horticultural varsities in India, UHSB secured top rank
THE 14th convocation of the University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot, will be held on June 10 at 11.30 am at the university's main auditorium, said Vice-chancellor Dr Vishnuvardhan in a press release.
He said that a total of 694 students will be awarded degrees during the ceremony, which includes 508 from B.Tech department, 144 from M.Sc, and 42 from PhD program. Around 95 gold medals will be presented to meritorious students.
Nine philanthropists have each deposited Rs 1 lakh with the university, and the interest generated from these funds is being used to provide Rs 500 monthly scholarships to deserving undergraduate and postgraduate students.
