Man hacked to death in broad daylight over property issue, 2 held

Accused follows victim on motorcycle, assaults him with an iron rod in public

IN a shocking and cinematic-style murder, a 28-year-old man was brutally killed in the public, in Hukkeri town of Belagavi district on Monday noon. Within a few hours of the incident, the police managed to arrest two accused in this case.

The deceased has been identified as Meerasab Jamakhandi, a resident of Avaragol village in Hukkeri taluk. Following the murder, police rushed to the spot and began an investigation. The brutal killing in the middle of the road created a climate of fear and tension in the area.

The deceased, an employee of Ashok Leyland Company, was riding a motorcycle with his friend Sachin Basavaraj Hoogar when they were intercepted by the accused. Police said the prime accused, Shanool Husenasab Jamakhandi, and his uncle Basheer Sikandar Killedar allegedly killed Meerasab over the property dispute.
