Forest Dept to plant 30L saplings in Chittoor dist during monsoon
WORLD Environment Day (WED) and Vanamahotsavam-2025 were observed fervently in Tirupati and Chittoor, with officials calling for tree plantations and reduced plastic usage to protect the environment.
Tirupati Municipal Corporation (MCT) Commissioner N Mourya led a plastic-free awareness campaign, distributing cloth bags and appealing to the public to stop using single-use plastic. He emphasised the need for community-wide adoption of reusable alternatives like jute or cloth bags.
