Pools of blood, waste and unbearable stench make neighbourhoods unlivable

- D SURENDRA KUMAR @Nellore

ILLEGAL animal slaughterhouses in Nellore have left residents reeling under unlivable conditions as these centres continue to operate in unhygienic conditions, posing health risks and legal concerns.

As per slaughterhouse regulations, animals must be slaughtered under hygienic conditions and not directly on the ground. However, illegal slaughterhouses in areas like Narukuru Centre, the Ayyappa Temple area, Haranadhapuram, and Zenda Street operate in blatant disregard of these norms.
