A Union minister, two chief ministers, and a Karnataka Cabinet minister will attend and address the main event marking the 90th birthday of the Dalai Lama in McLeodganj on July 6. The US is likely to be represented on the occasion, which will herald the launch of the "Year of Compassion."
Sources claim that the US will likely be represented by Bethany Poulos Morrison, the Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau for South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) for India and Bhutan in the Department of State.
