Women power in the saddle in 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh

WOMEN IAS officers are heading the administration in 13 of the 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh, signifying changing social dynamics.
In Bahraich, top three officers are women - Monica Rani is the district magistrate (DM), Vrinda Shukla the police chief and Ramya R the chief development officer (CDO).
These officers bring about a significant change in local governance with a thrust on gender sensitisation.
They are also not behind their male counterparts when it comes to enforcement, people say. Bahraich, for example, topped in the state for resolving public grievances in June.
