PRIME Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday described the Maharashtra mandate for the NDA as a victory of "development, good governance and social justice." Speaking after a landslide for the BJP and its allies in MahaYuti at the party headquarters, he said the mandate in Maharashtra has put a seal of approval for the BJP's governance model, saying that when it came to "sushasan" (good governance), people trust only in BJP and NDA.

Describing Maharashtra results as a defeat of lies, Modi said: "Divisive, negative and dynastic politics has been defeated," adding that Congress attempts to divide the society in the names of caste, religions and regions have failed.
