‘US-backed groups spearheaded Bangla Spring

A section of Bangladeshi intelligentsia has alleged that students who spearheaded protests in that country received training, were radicalised and taught about regime change with facilitation provided by US-led groups.
"What has happened in Bangladesh in the past few weeks was planned and executed with the help of the US that was eyeing a regime change for a long time. We refer to it as 'Bangla Spring' where students were introduced to radicalised communities, received training on regime changes through study circles," Prof Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, a political commentator, told this newspaper, adding that India couldn't see this coming and was literally caught unawares.
