SEBI LOOKS INTO CONDUCT OF 6 INDUSIND OFFICIALS

CAPITAL markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has warned two Mauritius-based funds with investments in Adani Group companies that they could face penalties and licence cancellations for failing to disclose shareholding details, despite repeated requests over the past two years.
As per a document reviewed by Reuters, two Mauritius-based Elara funds - Elara India Opportunities Fund and Vespera Fund - had been asked since 2023 to provide "granular disclosures" of all their shareholders since they had "concentrated positions" in the Adani Group.
The Adani Group and its 13 offshore investors have been facing investigation by Sebi since US-based short seller Hindenburg Research in 2023 alleged improper use of tax havens by the group. Hindenburg had accused the power-to-port conglomerate of stock manipulation and accounting fraud.
