SC extends stay on ED probe against Tasmac

Court says it will be bound by outcome of the review petition filed against Vijay Madanlal Choudhury judgment
THE Supreme Court on Tuesday extended its order restraining the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from taking any coercive action, including search, seizure or further investigation against the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac) in the alleged ₹21,000 crore scam till a three-judge bench rules on the review pleas challenging certain provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
A bench of Chief Justice of India BR Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran observed that it would be bound by the outcome of the review petition filed against the Vijay Madanlal Choudhury judgment and posted the Tasmac matter for further hearing after a ruling in the Madanlal case.
