PIL in SC accuses UP govt of lapses, administrative failure

A day after the stampede broke out at Maha Kumbh, killing 30 people, a PIL was filed in the Supreme Court accusing the Uttar Pradesh government of "lapses, negligence and utter failure of administration".
The PIL, filed by lawyer, Vishal Tiwari, sought directions to all the state governments to ensure safety and security of people going to Kumbh.
Tiwari said that he will mention his plea before the CJI bench for urgent hearing.
