K’taka CM Siddaramaiah, Cong ministers booked for blocking traffic during 2022 march

TAKING serious note of allegations of obstruction of traffic and disturbing peace during a protest in the city in 2022, the High Court of Karnataka has refused to quash the criminal proceedings against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and four senior Congress leaders and imposed ? 10,000 each as cost on them to be paid to the CM’s Relief Fund.
The other accused are AICC general secretary (in-charge of Karnataka) Randeep Singh Surjewala, Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy and MLC Saleem Ahmed.
The court directed them to appear personally before the magistrate designated to try cases against sitting and former MPs and MLAs.
