Faridkot DSP Held for Offering Bribe to Settle Own Graft Case

A deputy superintendent of police (DSP) was arrested in Punjab's Faridkot for allegedly offering a bribe of ₹1 lakh to a senior officer's staff in exchange for suppressing a complaint filed against him for demanding a bribe, officials said on Friday.
Sources said a case has been registered against DSP Rajanpal Singh, posted in the Crime Against Women cell in Faridkot, under the Prevention of Corruption Act. He was reportedly caught offering the bribe to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jaswinder Singh, reader to Faridkot Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pragya Jain.
