'ED exempted from RTI ambit, but will have to give info on sexual harassment'

THE Delhi High Court has held that the Enforcement Directorate is exempted from the ambit of the Right to Information (RTI) Act but it can be directed to provide information on sexual harassment allegations.
While partially setting aside the Central Information Commission (CIC) order, Justice Prathiba M Singh directed the investigation agency to disclose the information sought by the RTI applicant within eight weeks.
The court passed the order after hearing two appeals filed by the ED challenging as many orders of CIC directing disclosure of certain information to RTI applicants.
