IN a major crackdown on celebrity endorsements linked to illegal betting platforms, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached properties worth ₹11.14 crore belonging to former cricketers Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan.

The two have been accused of promoting the banned betting application 1xBet and its surrogate brand 1xBat, which allegedly used over 6,000 mule accounts to launder more than ₹1,000 crore.

According to the ED, the attachment includes mutual fund investments worth ₹6.64 crore linked to Raina and property valued at 4.5 crore belonging to Dhawan. Officials said the cricketers had received payments for endorsing illegal platforms disguised as legitimate brand deals.
