Coast Guard, Odisha Police Plan to Carry Out Joint Inspection of Coastline

In a bid to enhance patrolling, Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Odisha Police have planned to carry out joint inspection along the state's 480-km long coastline to identify spots with shallow and deep waters to determine the types of boats which could be deployed there.
The decision came after a meeting was held between DGP YB Khurania and ICG Commander of Eastern Seaboard ADG Donny Michael in Bhubaneswar on Friday. "A board will be formed comprising of officers of Odisha Police and ICG. The officers will carry out a survey of the entire coastline to identify the areas having shallow and deep waters," Khurania told this newspaper.
