AN ISRAELI air strike has killed a journalist working with Al Jazeera as it evacuated parts of Gaza’s north as it pressed its renewed bombardment and ground operations in the Palestinian territory.
-
Israel resumed intense air strikes across Gaza Tuesday, followed by ground operations, after talks on securing another pause with the Palestinian group Hamas reached an impasse.
On Monday evening, Israeli tanks and soldiers reportedly advanced into several areas, “undertaking a surprise early morning before a strike” in the northern area of Jabalia.
“Terrorist combatants are once again returning to and firing rockets from populated areas... For your safety, head south for the known shelters immediately,” Adraee wrote on X, after also issuing warnings for the northern towns of Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun.
Gaza’s interior ministry said an Israeli drone strike on Monday afternoon killed journalist Hamsa Dahdouh, a news agency staffer, in Beit Lahia.
Mahmoud, said the air strike targeted more than 10 cars, including ambulances and vehicles, for aid.
“Hassam Shabat, a journalist collaborating with Al Jazeera Mubasher, was martyred in an Israeli strike targeting his car in the northern Gaza Strip,” an alert from the Qatar broadcaster said, referring to the Al Jazeera channel.
