Culture, sports and food: exploring Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
The London Standard
|April 17, 2025
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has evolved beyond its origins as a stage for the London 2012 Games. Today, the park is a dynamic part of the area's cultural fabric, with a vibrant arts and events programme, landscaped gardens, famous sporting venues, tasty food and drink offerings and much more.

Visit Sadler's Wells East and V&A East Storehouse, part of East Bank — the UK's newest cultural quarter at the heart of the park — which is open for a diverse programme of activities. A short walk away, you can experience ABBA Voyage, which blends technology and lighting with some of the pop group’s most loved hits, while public art installations, nature trails, children’s playgrounds and a growing food scene make it the perfect day out.
Catch an unmissable show at Sadler's Wells East
Having opened its doors to the new 550-seat theatre in February, Sadler’s Wells East has launched its debut season. The upcoming programme includes Olivier Award-winning Traplord by Ivan Michael Blackstock. Running from 28-31 May, the performance is a powerful, raw and thought-provoking production that tackles themes of mental health and masculinity. As the season unfolds, the new venue promises an eclectic range of shows for people to experience world-class dance.
