Parisians on verge of turning obsession into reality after ditching big-name stars.

Can galactico-less PSG realise Champions League dream at last?

Paris Saint-Germain stand on the brink of history as they prepare to face Inter Milan in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Winning Europe's premier club competition has been an obsession for PSG's Qatari owners since they bought the French club in 2011, and now that dream is within touching distance.

For so long, it felt like PSG were cursed in the Champions League. The past decade has been littered with painful defeats, including their most famous heartbreak in 2017 when they crashed out after blowing a 4-0 first-leg lead by losing 6-1 to Barcelona in the last 16. There was also defeat in the 2019 final and a semi-final exit last season when they lost 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund after hitting the woodwork a staggering six times across the two legs.

This season, PSG had looked destined for more Champions League misery after starting their league phase campaign with just one win in their opening five games.

Review: Need a sound night's sleep? These earbuds can even cancel your neighbours

I am incredibly noise-sensitive. I have the disposition of an irritable bat, which is only exacerbated in a sleep setting. And I have neighbours whose noise is constant: coughing, kids screaming, shouting.

Shabana Mahmood faces revolt over her asylum changes

DAILY MAIL “For the millions in this country who want an end to unchecked illegal migration, Shabana Mahmood’s proposals for a Danish-style asylum system are a decent start. There are simple, commonsense tweaks to rules widely regarded as far too generous. A key sticking point will be Mahmood’s struggle to sell the proposals to her own backbenchers.
