A TYNESIDE tech firm which offers a 24-hour door-to-door student laundry collection and cleaning service has won a top award in its first year.

- COREENA FORD Business writer coreena.ford@reachplc.com

Newcastle-based Zube Student Laundry was set in motion last October on a mission to disrupt the student laundry market by providing sustainable, fast and affordable laundry services exclusively for students. The firm has teamed up with a growing list of UK universities, including Newcastle and Durham, which sees students sign up on its website for 24-hour door-to-door laundry collections and cleaning services.

Laundry is taken to the nearest Zube laundry, where it is processed according to customers' choices. Students who sign up can choose exactly how they want their clothes washed, right down to selecting their preferred wash detergents.
