Woodland planned near village

A NEW 47-hectare woodland is to be created on the outskirts of a Gateshead village by Forestry England.

The land at South Farm, Barlow was bought as part of Forestry England nationwide commitment to producing high-quality, sustainable timber, increasing community wellbeing and helping tackle climate change. The new woodland will be known as Barlow Wood.
