TEENAGER Chris Rigg believes Sunderland will bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at the Stadium of Light, insisting the squad remains focused and confident heading into the play-offs.

With the season finale on the horizon, Rigg underlined the importance of unity across the squad.

Rigg was among the substitutes alongside Enzo Le Fee, Patrick Roberts, Dan Neil and Eliezer Mayenda.

Rigg believes the fringe players deserved their chance. Despite the defeat, the 17-year-old praised the contributions of Sunderland's starting side, who were given an opportunity to impress once again.
