Tributes as councillor dies aged 53

TRIBUTES have been paid to a "stalwart" councillor who has died at the age of 53.
-
Sunderland city councillor councillor Claire Rowntree has been remembered for her “passion for improving the lives of people from all walks of life”.
The Labour and Cooperative councillor had represented the Hetton ward since 2018 and spent a large portion of that time campaigning to bring Elemore Park back into public use.
