Teen in court accused of setting fire to college roof

A TEENAGER has appeared in court accused of setting fire to part of a roof at a Tyneside college.

Alex Thomas is alleged to have started a blaze in the Trevelyan Building, at Newcastle College, on January 10.

The 18-year-old, who was 17 at the time, is suspected of damaging roof tiles as a result of the fire.
