The awards, headline partnered by Sage UK and in association with Newcastle University, will take place at Hardwick Hall at Sedgefield, County Durham, on September 25.
In advance of the event, winners in each category have been announced for Northumberland and Tyneside; Durham, Sunderland and South Tyneside; and Teesside; with these area winners now going head-to-head for the overall regional prize.
The competitors for the top prize of North East Business of the Year will be Gateshead-based IT solutions company Advantex Network Solutions Ltd, NETPark’s communications solutions firm Filtronic, and Billingham-based manufacturers CF Fertilisers UK Ltd.
Last year the title was taken by Tyneside-based robotics company Wootzano, who joined the judging panel to select this year’s winners.
Other companies vying for awards include Opencast, Port of Blyth, COG Legal and The Resolved Group.
