PLANS to demolish and redevelop a former Tynemet College site in North Shields will be heard by North Tyneside Council's planning committee. ‘The modern campus, on the same site as the listed original Queen Alexandra College, is facing demolition and redevelopment featuring 47 new homes.

North Tyneside Council’s planning committee will meet next Wednesday to consider an application from Lovell Homes to bulldoze the moder buildings which form part of the historic Queen Alexandra College site. The original listed Edwardian school building facing Hawkeys Lane is unaffected.
