Plans for 15 flats at former police station

PLANS have been submitted to Gateshead Council to convert a former police station into 15 new flats.

A former 20th century police station on Sunderland Road, Felling, and the remainder of its vacant site could be repurposed pending approval into a new apartment complex. Documents submitted to the council on behalf of the applicant, Max Leo Investments, state:

“The station closed in 1999 and has since been used as a youth probation centre and most recently a school. The building has been vacant for over five years.”
