PEPPA Pig's Mammy has given birth. It is all over mainstream media.

Peppa Pig birth adds to confusing blurring of reality

Well, Good Morning Britain covered it anyway, if that counts? My children are confused.

I do not blame them.

"Does this mean Peppa is real?" My five-year-old keeps enquiring of me.

"Do we know her now?"

The second question is definitely our fault.

Our kids have grown up seeing us on morning breakfast shows frequently enough to think that we go on to just chat to our friends.

Because how else do we explain what we are doing there, really?

And, as far as the first question goes?

I have no idea what to say in reply, without telling porkies...

I mean, yes she's a cartoon character, obviously.

But she's also a multibillion-pound global brand.

One of our most successful international exports.

She has her own theme park, for goodness sake.

Peppa, pictured, is far more than a two-dimensional scribble on a piece of paper.

She's iconic. A diva in porcine form.

HEALTHY START

January is the right time for a reset. Nothing extreme, just food to help you feel good. Think fresh flavours, colourful plates and meals as nourishing as they are comforting. Soothing soups, vibrant salads and a spicy curry are on my menu plus, of course, the odd selection box chocolate which needs eating up!
