Orchestral debut 'a dream' for pop icon Jade
The Journal
|May 29, 2025
ANOTHER BBC Proms weekend of music will be bringing a summer boost to The Glasshouse International Centre for Music in July, it has been announced.
And the big news is that the event will see pop icon Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix make her North East solo debut which the Brit Award-winner says will be “a dream” moment.
Following on from the success of three previous Proms link-ups, which have seen the BBC institution extend its season beyond the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Gateshead music centre again will be showcasing local talent alongside live BBC radio broadcasts in a summer series of concerts. These will take place over a long weekend July 24-27 and highlights will include a major homecoming collaboration between Jade and Royal Northern Sinfonia on July 25, specially for the occasion.
