MP's 'chaos' warning as Phillipson gets her vote

Catherine McKinnell, MP for Newcastle North

The prime minister's position has come under question as Labour lags behind Reform UK in the polls amid the fallout of Angela Rayner’s resignation as his deputy and Lord Mandelson’s sacking as ambassador to the US over the former Hartlepool MP's links to Jeffrey Epstein.

Speculation has been mounting over a return to Westminster for Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham and a potential Labour leadership bid.

Newcastle North MP Catherine McKinnell has now cautioned her party against the “chaos” brought on by leadership changes, following the repeated power shifts under the Conservatives.
