Milestone new £2.7m base for Olympus Global

GROWING engineering business Olympus Global is poised to start work on its new £2.7m base in the North East.

Earlier this year, the European automotive component distributor submitted plans to create its new multimillion-pound warehouse distribution facility in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, which will serve the region's industrial and automotive industries as well as wider supply chains.

The plans, drawn up by Sunderland architectural and engineering firm Building Design Northern (BDN), will lead to the transformation of brownfield land at Aycliffe Business Park into a 16,000sqft warehouse development with modern office space.

The company will break ground on the new facility on October 6.

The company announced the milestone at this year's North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) event, which sees organisations from across the whole industry supply chain attend the annual expo held in Sunderland.
