Mayenda to miss clash with Oxford after head injury
The Journal
|April 25, 2025
ELIEZER Mayenda will not be available for Sunderland's visit to Oxford United tomorrow, due to the head injury he suffered against Blackburn.
The in-form striker will miss out and head coach Regis Le Bris touched on other injuries and absentees ahead of the trip south for the penultimate Championship fixture.
"Eliezer is in concussion protocol until Sunday," confirmed Le Bris.
"So he is fine without symptoms but we have to be very cautious with him.
"For Romaine Mundle, he will be available a week before the play-offs and Dan Ballard will be ready next Saturday [against QPR], and Dennis Cirkin will be ready for the bench for maybe 25 minutes at the end of the game. Jenson Seelt is available against Oxford."
