Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close talk about their new legal drama.
Teyana plays Milan Sarah as Carrington "Carr" Lane LEGAL ACTION: Kim and Naomi play lawyers Allura Grant and Liberty Ronson
LONG before she became a reality TV superstar and business mogul, Kim Kardashian was fascinated with the law.
Even as a small child, she got into trouble for sneaking into the office of her father, Robert Kardashian famously a member of his good friend O.J. Simpson’s “dream team” of legal defenders to go through crime scene photos.
Before he died in 2003, after being diagnosed with oesophageal cancer, she had conversations with him about going to law school and she recently graduated from the California Law Office Study Programme in May after six years.
And now art imitates life, as she stars as determined lawyer Allura Grant in legal drama All’s Fair, the latest from American writer and director Ryan Murphy, whose previous hit shows include Glee, Nip/Tuck, Monster, and American Horror Story, as well as the American Crime Story shows about OJ Simpson, the Menendez brothers and Gianni Versace.
“He knew that I was really interested and gave me a lot of advice on the journey of being a lawyer. He actually discouraged me from being a lawyer,” says Kim, who first found fame in the E! reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
“He said, ‘I know my baby girl. It’s going to stress you out way too much. This isn’t the field you really want to be in’.
“But I think he would be so proud and happy, and would’ve been my best study buddy, fully helping me through this process.
“We had laughs about it - I'm sure he was joking. I think he never thought I would take the journey of really going to law school. But of course, it’s a huge influence for me in wanting to be a lawyer.
