Isak is key - but so too are United team-mates

SOARING MAGPIES ARE NO ONE-MAN BAND
ALEXANDER Isak hardly needs any reminding of what is at stake.
Not only is the Champions League logo splashed across the Newcastle United star's shin pads - so, too, are the crests of PSG, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, who the Magpies faced in the competition last season. That's how driven Isak is to return to Europe's top table with Newcastle.
One more win should do it and Isak has certainly played his part in Newcastle soaring to third place with just two games to go.
After all, Isak has scored more than a third of Newcastle's Premier League goals in 2024/25 - and there have been some crucial strikes along the way.
There have been openers against Liverpool, Manchester United, Ipswich (home and away), Wolves and Brentford; equalisers at Nottingham Forest, Southampton and Brighton; and decisive goals versus Spurs (home and away), Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
