Heed thrilled to the Bone over new signing

GATESHEAD’S academy prospect Callum Bone has agreed a two-year professional deal with the club having impressed this preseason.

The 17-year-old midfielder has scored in each of Gateshead’s recent friendly wins over Blyth Spartans and Spennymoor Town and continues what has been a positive week for Alun Armstrong's side following the welcome additions of former League Two top scorer Dominic Telford and ex-Middlesbrough academy prospect Harry Chapman.

The Heed have also completed a permanent deal for Josh Home who impressed during a loan spell from Birmingham City last season, with Armstrong moving swiftly to bring in a number of new signings following the exit of Regan Booty, following his move to League Two side Barrow.

Gateshead’s agreement with Bone comes amidst plenty of interest for the youngster’s services, with boss Armstrong admitting the teenager has “massive potential” after committing his future at the Gateshead International Stadium.
