NEWCASTLE
United have held talks with French police ahead of their trip to Paris later this month for the club's Champions League clash. It’s understood that club officials cranked up communication with the French authorities after complaints from the travelling fans last year.
The encounter against Paris St-Germain will be Newcastle's first trip to France since the ill-fated away day in Marseille. That night, supporters at the Velodrome were held back for up to three hours while some were sprayed with tear gas as police took unneccesary action in the aftermath of the 2-1 defeat.
