Firms which failed to pay minimum wage named

OVER 42,000 workers have been repaid in a government crack- down on businesses failing to pay the minimum wage.
-
Out of 491 employers implicated in the action, 19 are in the North East.
Employers who failed to pay the minimum wage thresholds received fines totalling £10.2 million. That money was distributed to employees who were underpaid.
Business Secretary Peter Kyle said: “Every worker deserves a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work, and this government will not tolerate rogue employers who shortchange their staff.
