Family calls for police inquiry into daughter's poison death

THE family of a Northumberland 22-year-old who died after she ingested poison bought online have questioned why there is no police investigation ongoing into the supplier.

Grace Nevens, from Morpeth, died at Cramlington Hospital in November 2024, having previously visited an online suicide forum.

Northumberland senior coroner Andrew Hetherington said at a pre-inquest review that Northumbria Police had confirmed no investigation was ongoing into the death of the former University of Leeds student.

The coroner said he was aware of investigations into a Canadian and a Ukrainian who are alleged to have supplied users of a suicide forum with poison.

Mr Hetherington said he had spoken to the National Crime Agency about the case.
