Fall in anti-social behaviour reports hailed by police

ANTI-SOCIAL behaviour reports in North Tyneside are down by 28%, with Northumbria Police officers continuing their neighbourhood work.

There have been a total of 621 fewer reports in the area so far this year, compared to the same period of 2024.

The numbers have fallen by 31% in North Shields and 30% in Killingworth, with a major difference also clear due to the 29% drop in incidents in Wallsend, while Whitley Bay has seen the number of reports fall by 19%.

In their crucial role in this reduction, officers have been conducting regular visible patrols and engaging with the community, with trusted officers and staff with a better understanding of their area helping police to tackle the most important issues.
