Drug farm is uncovered at upmarket estate home

A HOME on an upmarket estate was found to contain a cannabis farm worth more than £50,000.

Police attended a property on Darras Road, Darras Hall, Ponteland, on October 7 2019 and discovered the drugs factory with Martin Hawdon and Scott Patterson inside, busy moving soil.

Jessica Slaughter, prosecuting, told Newcastle Crown Court the officers found with 99 plants in three rooms in “an elaborate and sophisticated set up”.
