Augmented reality firm seals 'exciting' £3m deal

A NEWCASTLE augmented reality (AR) firm has secured a £3m investment deal to help accelerate its work in the UK and abroad.

Aircards was launched in 2020 to specialise in the use of AR to bring physical paper products, such as business cards and postcards, to life using its cutting-edge technology.

The Tyneside business has 32 employees and has grown to become a leader in developing and delivering immersive experiences to a range of customers. It takes brands' visions and transforms them into AR, VR and XR experiences with CGI content and immersive billboards.

Since its launch Aircards has worked with firms including Nike, L’Oréal, Diageo, Unilever, Louis Vuitton and Red Bull, creating campaigns for them in major cities, flagship retail, stadiums and cultural events around the world.

Now Foresight Group, a regional private equity and infrastructure investment manager, has announced a £3m investment into Aircards Ltd.
