£9,000 watch stolen in fraud at shop

POLICE are searching for a man in relation to a scam in which an expensive watch was stolen.

The con saw two men walk out of The Jeweller's Guild in Whitley Bay without paying for a £9,000 Rolex, officers said.

Northumbria Police have now released an image of a man they are seeking to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place at 3.45pm on Friday, April 25.

The force said officers are investigating a report of fraud.
