SLN conducts TRINEX-25 in preparation for participation in int'l maritime exercises

The Navy recently conducted Trincomalee Naval Exercise pare their participation in international maritime exercises in line with Sri Lanka's broader maritime objectives.

Navy Headquarters said so at the conclusion of TRINEX-25 conducted from 22 to 26 July at the strategic port of Trincomalee and in the eastern seas where the Navy fought many battles with Sea Tigers. The then Vice Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda's indomitable Navy played a significant role in the nearly three-year long combined armed forces campaign that brought the war to a successful conclusion in May 2009.

The concluding ceremony of TRINEX-25 was held on 27 July onboard SLNS Sindurala under the patronage of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.
