Restructuring of SriLankan Airlines’ defaulted bonds has positive impact on CSE

CSE trading overall was positive yesterday having experienced five days of decline. The change for the better came with a Singapore Stock Exchange announcement that SriLankan Airlines had restructured its defaulted bonds with a 15 percent haircut and other conditions.

Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Harshana Suriyaperuma announced at a public event that SriLankan will complete the restructuring of 99 percent of its debt with the finalization of an agreement with holders of SriLankan Airlines defaulted bonds.
“Today we are taking a new step in the full normalization of our relations with our external partners and in our efforts to restore our public finances, he said in a filing on the Singapore Stock Exchange after reaching a deal to restructure SriLankan bonds.
