A former homeless man has launched a new football programme for people with mental health and addiction issues events in North Ayrshire and hopes to introduce them soon in Irvine.

A Street Soccer Drop-in is being held at Winton Park, Ardrossan started on Wednesday, April 16 and runs every Wednesday each week, at 10.30am.

Organiser Gordon Nisbet said on the unique class:"I grew up in Irvine, went through mental health issues and came across a football programme in 2011 called Football For You after I had been homeless for a year.
